Review
"Transmet is brilliant future-shock commentary.""Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson take a Hunter S. Thompson analogue and put him through a 23rd century wringer. It's angry political sci-fi and it's funny as hell."

It's election time in Transmetropolitan, and Warren Ellis is coming out firing on all cylinders. In this volume, Ellis gets a new assistant, a new purpose, and plenty of drugs to keep him going.Ellis's approach to politics is much the same as his approach to everything else in this series: heavy cynism and profanity. To unseat the Beast, met in a previous volume, Ellis creates two characters, Senator Callahan, AKA the Smiler, and Senator Heller. These characters are clearly interested in power, but Ellis does a good job of avoiding the flaw that a lot of fake politics fall into, namely feeding into the idea that everyone is equally bad and there's no point in trying to change things. Spider sees some hope in this volume, though admittedly not much of it.Speaking of hope, I's still not sold on the use of Spider's assisstants. His new one in this issue doesn't do much, but with the ending I'm optimistic about what will happen in the next volume. Read on, readers, read on.
Two previous volumes were avant-garde, interesting to read and had fascinating graphics. My enthusiasm for this series petered out with this volume, the plot was tedious and seems to regurgitate the same slop over and over....It’s amazing the former two issues were no charge with prime, and I paid 799 for this loser!
Willie's revenge fantasy on politics seems even more apt now than it did at the time as the spectacle of elections has increased since the 1990s. This is the bread and butter of Ellis's satire.
It's Spider at his worst or best. This book defiantly resonates with the 2016 political scene.
The comic is great but it arrived rolled up like a newspaper.
With vol. 3 Transmetopolitan doesnt joke around, the same awesome of the last two books is in here even more developed. This series just keeps you wanting more and more. One of the best running series yet.
Vol 3 continues the great saga. Artwork is great, story line is fabulous, and in this one we see that Spider might just have a little human in him.
Warren Ellis on fire!Darrick Robertson, clean and visceral! If you HATE America's current political landscape, READ THIS SERIES!!!I'm spent...
Each book of Transmetropolitan is a bound collection of genius, dark and humerous. Transmet is not only the best "comic" series I've ever read (yes, it dethroned "the watchmen" for me), but it's simply one of the greatest examples of violent, darky comical seething political commentaries I've ever read anywhere! Buy the Transmet books at any cost, you cannot be dissapointed! Spider Jerusalem is everyman's hero!
